Speech by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount-Lebanon Since its establishment, the Chamber of Beirut and Mount-Lebanon has been a basic reference and perhaps the only reference for promoting economic and trade activities in Lebanon in general, and in Beirut and Mt-Lebanon in particular. Based on this important role, the Chamber achieved remarkable results in supporting the productive sectors in Lebanon, especially the Lebanese industry. The Chamber published documents, publications and manuals to spot commercial and industrial establishments, and compiled a list of its affiliated members for consecutive years, in addition to shedding light on economic activities in various media outlets, especially in the “Lebanon and Arab Economy” magazine issued by the Chamber. The Chamber of Beirut and Mt-Lebanon facilitated communication between the different regions and governorates of Lebanon through its regional Chambers, and greatly contributed to the creation of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Lebanon. Moreover, the Chamber of Beirut and Mt-Lebanon embarked on media projects that promote economic activities in Lebanon, especially the Lebanese industry, and played a key role in sponsoring and supporting the publishing of the Directory of Exports and Industrial Institutions since 1982 until today. This distinguished tenth edition of the directory received the usual support and sponsorship of the Chamber as it is based on a comprehensive field survey conducted by the Industrial Directory Company under the supervision and sponsorship of the Lebanese Ministry of Industry. So, the directory that is issued in Arabic and English, is an accredited industrial reference for identifying Lebanese industrial production. It is in conformity with the Harmonized System (H.S Code) which is rarely adopted by Arab and Middle Eastern countries, and perhaps by industrialized countries. The directory is published on the website www.lebanon-industry.com, making Lebanese products accessible to all local and international markets. We hope that this edition will mark a new turning point by connecting the Lebanese market to foreign markets, especially with Lebanese expatriates due to the ease of use it adopted as this directory is based on new technologies and new information for those who want to gain knowledge of Lebanese products.
